I.B.S. Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

The reverence of the Lord is the cornerstone of wisdom. A cornerstone is the foundation of a house. Without a solid foundation a house or building will collapse. The same goes for our lives, if God isn’t our foundation it won’t be long before we see our plans fail! I personally have had this happen to me an obseen amount of times! You would think I would have figured it out a long time ago. LOL. That’s probably why he calls us sheep. It’s one of the dumbest in the animal kingdom. “Pride comes before the fall” isn’t it so true?! Man is extremely prideful, whether in vanity, intelligence, ability, possession, exc, the list goes on. So often we make these things our foundation of who we are. It’s foolish! Solomon, who is known as the wisest man who ever lived, a man who did pretty much everything. In the end says in Ecclesiastes 12:8 “vanity of vanities” says the preacher, “all is vanity.” Then goes on to conclude in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
For this is man’s all.
For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.

We were designed to worship God! If a tool is used for something it is not designed for it does a bad job and the end product is flawed. Have you ever tried to drink milk with a fork? It wouldn’t work so well. That is our life when we make anything other than God our foundation.
However, when we put Him first and follow His commandments we find our lives solid, complete, fulfilled. The Lord is perfect in every way! His praise endures forever!

Application: I will put God first in all things, and in all things give Him the glory. For without God I am nothing. I can do nothing without him! The more I remind myself of that, the better off I am! I will begin and end my day in his word!
